Hi, everyone. Someone on Ebay has for sale a coin (looks like a token) that is stamped H & H. I thought the machines only used nickel (or higher) American coins; at some point in the restaurant's history was currency exchanged for tokens? Thanks so much.

Horn & Hardart used tokens before I joined the company in 1963. It continue to utilize tokens until at least 1987. I believe they were introduced because of the increase in the different items sold.
