Years ago I heard a recording of a song about a woman who fell in love with a jobless actor while she was working at the automat. I had it on a tape which I have subsequently lost. I never knew anything about it, who it was by, who was singing it.
I did a search at one point and found out that it was written by the same people who wrote the Fantasticks. But there never seemed to be any link to any recording or even sheet music.
Now there seems to be even less information about it on the web as I can barely find anything that links Schmidt and Jones to any song called Autumn at the Automat!
Does anyone have any information regarding the song or any recordings of it? I'd love to have that recording again, but sheet music would be manageable.
Any help would be much appreciated. |

This song was part of "The Play of the Week" a weekly tv show in New York City in the mid 50s. It was on channel 13 which was a public station long before there was PBS. This particular play was just interesting songs and poems about life in New York City. I also remember a poem read by Orson Bean about Ivy League Girls and a song about a motorman on the BMT. |

I have a problem with the new Pokemon. It seems that they haved rsuhed the series or have done something that makes it feel different then what it usually does. And it was in Black and White only, though it might just be with me being a little worried about where the series is going. The C-gear was a great new edition (though I disagree with the idea to use dream world requires a Pokemon Trainer account) and it works really well, and the Poke-transfer has brought a partial dream of mine to life (being able to transfer Pokemon easier, like all of my 100-1?? or 2?? something easily without having to capture the same amount). I can't say if I like the direction its going in or not, but I hope they fix it or something. It might have to do with the fact that a lot of the stuff to do after game is different and that it might have been better the way it was, i don't know. I love Pokemon and hope that the game series improves. (Now after my long a irrelevant rant) I like the C-gear, but with the new game coming up soon as well as all the others, I don't know what I'm going to do. |
