I think looking for a house-share arneegamrnt is a good idea. Actually, if you can find an older person who may need some transportation or other light help, you may be able to arrange very cheap room and board.

My grandfather, Martin (Mac)McDonald worked in various positions including GM for 53 years starting in the late '20's?. He was VERY proud of his work. He was in the Camden, NJ and the Philly area. I am sure that he was a taskmaster but produced quality people and food. He understood the concept of H&H and they were like family to him. Great childhood memories of visiting him near City Hall and having great food. I have the cookbook but it will never taste the same.

My Grandfather MARTIN CARCHIA passed away in 2005 and now his wife (my Grandmother; ROSE CARCHIA) is under Hospice care. I went to see her this week and askedfor memoriabilia of her and Granddad. I returned home to Indiana with a box of his Medals from the Army (WWII) and his Horn & Hardart "Scroll of Honor" and pins. He Drove the Delivery Truck in NYC and the scroll was given to him December 6, 1958 for 25 years of Service and in received "The Life Membership in the 25 year club. Signed by 'EK Daly" with Gold seal on Certificate. Does anyone remember my Grandfather, Martin Carchia? if so contact me.
Thanks and Thanks to Horn & Hardart. Laura
